On Sunday 5 June, COMITES QLD NT hosted an aperitivo in celebration of Festa della Repubblica.

The event at ANFE was an ticketed event open to all and was attended by 200 members of the community.

COMITES QLD NT coordinated with The Italian Club in Darwin and the fantastic volunteers of the Cairns Italian Festival to run simultaneous local events. Speeches were live streamed across Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin and Mackay.

4EB’s Leonardo Di Pinto was MC for the evening. Speeches were delivered by President Simone Trentino, Consul Luna Angelini Marinucci and Cr Vicki Howard — Member for Central Ward. Carlo Oreglia, presenter and producer for SBS Radio Italian attended the event during his visit to Brisbane and drew the lucky door prizes.
